BLUE LIGHT GRID explores the idea of photographic representation with the use of light in the absence of traditional analog materials, such as light sensitive paper, film and chemicals. BLUE LIGHT GRID digitally records nothing other than light itself and the conditions of its recording.

To create these works I use a vintage overhead projector and direct its light towards a rear projection screen. The bed of the projector is empty and projects only light. Working in sections, I photograph the projected light. These images are then reassembled, generating a pulsating rhythm of light, revealing the particular condition and limitations of the camera and the overhead projector. I intentionally allow an imperfect alignment of the prints to further express a natural order of disorder.
